The rechargeable lithium ion (Li-Ion) battery pack is a specially designed module, for use in the CARESCAPE™ patient monitor system and other medical equipment as applicable. The module is comprised of inbuilt integrated circuits (IC), TI BQ2060 and Mitsumi MM1414CV. The integrated circuit BQ2060 measures available charge in the battery using its integrated high-performance analog peripherals. The battery monitors capacity change, battery impedance and open-circuit voltage. The data captured is communicated to the system host controller through a serial communication bus. The IC MM1414CV provides secondary protection to lithium ion battery pack. It includes a high-precision voltage detector circuit and a delay circuit for battery protection. This battery pack is comprised of a tape, Li-Ion battery, bubble wrap, label, addendum instruction, carton mailer and bag.
