The Contact Band is used in the magnet ramping equipment of MRI systems. It is fit for the parts that must retain their shape under repeated stress and strain. The band is made up beryllium copper, which is a copper alloy with 0.5% - 3.0% beryllium and other elements. Beryllium copper combines high strength with non-magnetic and non-sparking qualities. It is an extremely versatile material suitable for various operations. It can effectively transmit heat and electricity and it maintains its strength even at very low temperatures. This unique composition of material offers excellent machinability, it can be machined when it is soft and then retain its shape after being heat-treated to the desired hardness. Due to its excellent properties this contact band is used in many MRI systems such as MR Signa HD Excite 1.5T, MR Signa Advantage 0.5T, MR Signa Horizon Hi speed LX 1.5T, HCS-IT AW Workstation 3.1, MR Signa Excite 1.5T, MR Signa Voyager 1.5T, MR Signa Advantage 1.5T and MR Max Plus 0.
