The XGD (eXtreme Gradient Driver) Power Supply converts power from the DVMR PDU to isolated power supplies for an eXtreme Gradient Amplifier (XGA). It is an IGBT-based, high voltage switching power supply that provides two 350V and two 650V isolated supplies to XGA. Three IGBT modules switch at ~20kHz based on a phase shift control to apply voltage to 2 separate transformers. The secondaries of the transformers are then rectified to produce appropriate output voltages. RCD (resistor-capacitor-diode) snubber circuits are placed at the output of the rectifiers to limit peak voltage on the output DC bus. Coupled inductors at the output of each DC bus ensure impedance is similar and therefore output voltage is identical. This power supply can be used with Discovery 750w GEM 3.-T and Discovery 750 3.0T systems.
